Yesterday we visited our hometown Dresden. This is the first picture of this trip. It shows the Terrassenufer in Dresden. On the left you see the academy of arts. In front there is the Semperoper and the Schlosskirche.
Made with Canon Eos 7D and Sigma 10mm.

The first thing that draws your eyes is, obviously, the bench. It drags your eyes to the water front, as if all you want to do is sit there and watch the sunset.
The colors are great, the tones are perfect, and the overall composition is excellent. The Sigma 10mm is a very superb lens, and you've managed to grasp it wholeheartedly. The left side of the image I find to be a little darker than need be, yet it promotes the sunset well. I understand the need for the height of the photo, but the dark top of the image seems a little distracting. Perhaps cropping it would have suited better. I do also think that the center point is a little off on the photo. Perhaps had you shot the photo a little more from the center of the bench, it would appear easier to view.
Overall, This photo has an amazing feel and tranquility to it. Great job.
The concept is simple, yet extremely effective. I saw this from a distance at first, and thought that the bench ws a sort of starburst. The lighting is just about perfect, and really draws the eye in. I wonder how it would look if you burned in the guy in the center to make him more of a focal point? It might be distracting, but it would be worth a try, I think. Excellent drama and tonal range, very sharp, wonderful colors, good design elements, and it really makes me want to see more of your work and visit Dresden!
